In this video series, instructor Bill Perkins will analyze the different elements of Composition, diving deeper into the explanation of components such as Line, Tone, Color, Shape, Rhythm, and Direction. In this first lesson, Bill begins by addressing the importance of your initial figure ground relationship and how placement is your first step to creating context. He introduces the fundamental components and nature of our visual language. Throughout this series on composition Bill will dive deeper into the explanation and interaction of each of these components, Line, Tone, Color, Shape, Rhythm, and Direction as well as a more discreet method of comparing through Major and Minor Keys, and our three primaries of design, Line,Mass, and Form.
